Drillbrush Year in Review - 2024 Highlights - Kohl's, Cleaners, and More!
Drillbrush in 2024

Another year has come and gone, and as we look forward to what 2025 brings, we take a step back and reflect on everything we’ve accomplished in the previous year.

We at Drillbrush have been busy continuing our quest to help people clean faster and easier with the power of a cordless drill. But it wasn’t just status quo for us; we added more retailers, made some interesting partnerships, and even launched some brand new cleaning products.

So to celebrate the New Year, we’ll head down memory lane and go over the highlights and major moments for Drillbrush in 2024!

New Useful All-Purpose Paste and Scrubby Doo! Cleaners

New Useful All-Purpose Paste and Scrubby Doo! Cleaners

Useful All-Purpose Cleaning Paste is a citrus-scented cleaner that comes packed with two scrubbing pads.

2024 was a big year for cleaners, as we launched not one, but two new cleaning solutions!

The first was our Useful All-Purpose Cleaning Paste, a general household cleaning paste that is perfect for bathroom, kitchen, and general household surfaces. The cleaner has a pleasant citrus aroma and comes in a small tub packaged with two of our drill-powered scrub pads.

In addition to the standalone cleaner, we also released a bevy of bundles that pair the cleaner with our popular 4-2-O kits and 3 inch backer. It was Drillbrush’s first foray into the world of cleaning solutions since Drill-tergent, and was well received by customers and users.

Scrubby Doo is a premium-grade pet urine spray. The kit version pictured comes with a towel and free sticker.

Our other new cleaner takes things in a different direction for Drillbrush. Late in the year, we launched Scrubby Doo, a peroxide-based Pet Urine Spot Remover that neutralizes odors and makes carpets and furniture fresh and new again.

Scrubby Doo was created in conjunction with John Klucznik, a 40 year veteran in the cleaning chemical industry with formulas for everything from commercial cleaning applications to crime scene clean-up.

While we’ve made kits geared towards pets before, Scrubby Doo is a departure from our usual branding. We went for a full cartoon theme on this cleaner, with two cute mascots, Scrubby Doo and Kitty Too, representing the brand and giving it a fun look!

By expanding more into cleaning solutions, Drillbrush can offer its customers the brushes they need to clean with the formulas to help cut through messes.

Launching the 3 inch Brush

Launching the 3 inch Brush

The 3 inch brush has a hook-and-loop backing mesh that connects to mini-polishers and similar devices.

Drillbrush wasn’t just focused on new cleaners, though. We added a new brush to our catalog, and a pretty unique one at that!

The 3 inch hook-and-loop brush is a flat-faced 3 inch scrubber with 1 inch long nylon bristles and a hook-and-loop mesh backing instead of a 1/4 inch shaft.

This mesh backing, which is similar to our drill-powered scrub pads, is built to fit on mini-polishers and other variable speed polishers that utilize hook-and-loop backer plates.

Similar to our 5 inch Threaded and 7 inch brushes, these brushes are for higher powered oscillating tools and the backing is grippy enough to keep it secure while in use.In addition to the backing plate, 3 inch brushes can also fit on our 3 inch pad backers to be used in standard cordless drills and impact drivers.

The 3 inch currently only comes in Soft White for use on automotive upholstery, car mats, vehicle rims, glass, wood furniture, and carpets.

This brush was developed on the suggestion of Mark Weber of Specialty Supply in Idaho, who was searching for a brush in this size because it was otherwise not currently available on the market. Mark helped us in the development phase by testing out the product and offering feedback and improvements. The end result is a brush we’re truly proud of!

Even though the Drillbrush line contains a large amount of unique brush shapes and sizes, we’re still innovating and producing brushes that can handle any cleaning task!

Drillbrush Added to More Retail Channels

Drillbrush Added to More Retail Channels

Drillbrush is now being carried by Kohl’s, Kroger, Northern Tool + Equipment, UFA, and Cencora.

Every year Drillbrush expands its retail presence, and we’re happy to say that we’re stocked by some pretty recognizable places!

The home, houseware, and clothing department store Kohl’s started carrying Drillbrush this year, which has caused many Kohl's Cash carriers to dish some out for a strain-free cleaning experience.

Kroger hopped on the Drillbrush wagon with our brushes being featured in their online store.

DIY and industrial parts store Northern Tool + Equipment has also added Drillbrush to their stock as we continue to make Drillbrush available in more and more hardware stores.

North of the border, we were added to United Farmers of Alberta, or UFA’s catalog. They are a Canadian agricultural supply cooperative and the second Canadian retail space Drillbrush has been sold, the first being Ducan Automotive.

One of the more unique places we were added was Cencora; an online catalog where independent pharmacies can source products.

Along with the new companies, Drillbrush continues to expand its presence within our longstanding retail partners, such as Ace Hardware and Do It Best. We’re excited to see what other retail spaces Drillbrush will enter in 2025.

ACE Hardware 100th Anniversary Show

ACE Hardware 100th Anniversary Show

The Drillbrush booth at the 2024 ACE Hardware Fall Show.

Every year the Drillbrush team packs up and heads to the ACE Hardware Fall Show. But this year was special, as ACE Hardware was celebrating its 100th anniversary.

The event was held at McCormick Place in Chicago, much like in 2022. Our team of three made the long drive from our headquarters Marcy, NY to spend the week in the big city preparing for the show.

It was a massive event with rows upon rows of vendors, a full food court, and a second convention on a different floor for just ACE contractors. There were demos, walkaround mascots, and retailers were treated to an exclusive Zak Brown Band concert.

While all that went on, the Drillbrush team saw the sights of the Windy City, made connections with other vendors, and added Drillbrush products to more ACE stores.

You can read more about the show and our trip in our travel blog.

Drillbrush Appears On The Drew Barrymore Show

Drew Barrymore and Ross Matthews show off Drillbrush on the Drew Barrymore Show.

Drillbrush also had a brush with stardom this year as we made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show!

The popular daytime talk show hosted by actress Drew Barrymore did a segment that featured Drillbrush in early October. The piece was on interesting products online and consisted of Ross Matthews (best known by some as Ross the Intern from the Tonight Show with Jay Leno) walking Drew Barrymore through and trying out the various items.

The hosts had fun with the Drillbrush, with Drew going down the entire length of her desk with our Medium Yellow brushes and bantering with Ross all the while.

It was a fun segment and she gave a positive review of the product! We want to thank the show for reaching out to us and giving us an opportunity to appear on the show!

Previously, Drillbrush has appeared on Rachael Ray and Fox and Friends. What show will we appear on next?

Drillbrush Rides On Track with Brayton Laster

Drillbrush Rides On Track with Brayton Laster

The #12 Drillbrush Ford of ARCA Menards Series Driver Brayton Laster at Watkins Glen.

While we didn’t do a full multi-driver Drillbrush Racing event like we did for the DuQuoin Fairgrounds ARCA race in 2023, Drillbrush did find a couple of opportunities to be out on track with friend-of-the-company Brayton Laster.

Drillbrush took to the high banks of Daytona for the first time for Laster’s bid for the ARCA opener for MAN Motorsports and their #95 team. While qualifying did not work out for the team, we’re happy we got to see Drillbrush on the car at such a historic facility. The closest we had gotten to Daytona prior was driving past the track as a company during our trip to the Orlando ACE Hardware show.

But that wasn’t all for Drillbrush Racing in 2024. We were also invited out to our home track, Watkins Glen International, to meet with Brayton Laster and see Drillbrush going around the winding Finger Lakes road course in the ARCA race.

Laster had a solid opening, passing several cars in the early stages, but an unfortunate brake fade resulted in an early exit for the #12 Fast Track Racing Ford. However, it was a pleasure meeting him and the team and we’re happy he invited us out to the race!

For Brayton Laster, who has been an excellent ambassador for the Drillbrush brand, he will get the opportunity to run his first full ARCA Menards Series season in 2025 for Wayne Peterson Racing. We wish him the best of luck in his 2025 campaign and know he’ll make us proud!

Drillbrush Joined Disability:IN

Drillbrush Joined Disability:IN

Disability:IN is a non-profit organization that supports disability inclusion in the business sector.

Some out there may not know, but Drillbrush is a disability-owned business.

Around 2020, owner and founder Anthony LaPolla began struggling with mobility, and prior to gaining some accessibility through a motorized wheelchair, was bedridden for some time.

Despite this, LaPolla continues to lead his company, expand the brand, and regularly offers customer support. This entrepreneurial spirit in the face of adversity is why in 2024 we joined up with Disability:IN.

Disability:IN is a non-profit organization that provides resources for business owners with disabilities. They support disabled entrepreneurs and assist in accessibility and inclusion

We’re proud to be affiliated with such a great organization and appreciate the support they give to their partners. If you want to check out Drillbrush and some of the other brands they represent, check out their gift guide.

In addition to being disability-owned, Drillbrush itself was built to bolster accessibility in the cleaning space. Drillbrush was created to make cleaning easier, especially for people who may struggle with hand scrubbing.

Drillbrush inventor Anthony LaPolla created the brush in 2005 to remedy the effects of carpal tunnel while scrubbing vehicles and rims at his car wash. Now nearly twenty years later, Drillbrush continues to assist people who may lack the ability to conventionally scrub surfaces by hand, saving them the strain and time.

Here’s to 2025 and Drillbrush’s 20th Anniversary

Here’s to 2025 and Drillbrush’s 20th Anniversary

With 2024 coming to a close, we look forward to 2025!

It’s a special year for Drillbrush as it’s the 20th anniversary of the invention of the Drillbrush Power Scrubber. 20 years of helping homeowners and professional cleaners by giving them the gift of drill-powered scrubbing to blast through tasks! We hope 2025 is a fruitful one for our business and that we can continue to grow and reach new retailers and customers.

We want to thank all of our valued customers for continuing to support Drillbrush Power Scrubber and our efforts to make cleaning faster, easier, and more fun. You are the fuel that keeps Drillbrush going and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Have a Happy New Year!
