Can You Use a Drillbrush to Clean Marble Surfaces? 5 Common Questions On What You Can Use Our Brushes to Clean
Drillbrush is always open to questions from our users. With so many things to clean and with a product as unique as Drillbrush, there’s bound to be questions and we’re always happy to answer them!
One of the most common questions we get is what surfaces Drillbrush can be used on. While everyday surfaces like bathroom tiles and kitchen stovetops are apparent, and our color chart covers a good chunk of the common surface types, there’s always edge cases people want to know about, especially if they involve delicate or expensive materials and objects.
We’re happy that Drillbrush customers take the time to do their research before diving headfirst into a cleaning project, and we want to try and make their search as easy as possible; so we’ve collected a few common questions we’ve received about which surfaces are safe to use Drillbrush on.
That way, we can get that useful info out there and make things easier for people searching for answers!
Can You Use a Drillbrush to Clean Marble?
A marble countertop.
Yes. Drillbrush products have non-scratch bristles, so our brushes are safe to use on hard marble surfaces.
We recommend using a Soft White brush, which has delicate bristles for light scrubbing and buffing, which is what your average marble surface will need. Moving up to a Stiff Red or an Ultra Stiff Black brush would be overkill. A Medium brush can be utilized if your marble needs it, but a Soft brush should do the trick!
Drillbrush Soft White brushes are also great for a variety of other ornate surfaces, like dining chairs, crown molding, and wooden furniture like dressers, vanities, and end tables.
Can Drillbrush Clean Blackstone Grilltops and Similar Griddles?
Gristle and grease left on a griddle can be cleaned with a Drillbrush.
Yes. Like with grill cleaning, Drillbrush Ultra Stiff Black brushes can be used to clean stuck-on messes on griddles and grilltops.
We get a lot of questions about Blackstone griddles specifically because they use cold rolled carbon steel, rather than the stainless steel or cast iron that people are normally used to cleaning. But just like those surface materials, Drillbrush products won’t scratch steel surfaces.
However, another cooking surface to watch out for is ceramic.
Can Drillbrush Clean Ceramic Coated Grilltops and Griddles?
A ceramic grill.
Yes, but be careful.
Ceramic coating is very sensitive to scratches, so metal grill tools are a no-no. Drillbrush products are non-scratch nylon with plastic blocks, but depending on what you’re cleaning, hard crumbs and particles from the mess itself could leave microscratches.
Ceramic coated griddles tend to resist stuck-on foodstuff, so you probably won’t need to use a Drillbrush unless absolutely necessary. If you need to do so, use a soft or medium brush gently at a slower speed.
Can I Use a Drillbrush on Acrylic Bathtubs?
Drillbrush can clean types of bathtubs, including acrylic.
Yes, Drillbrush products are safe to use on acrylic bathtubs.
Drillbrush Medium Yellow brushes can easily clean porcelain tubs, but many acrylic tub owners worry that it won’t work on their tub. We’re happy to dispel that notion, as Medium Yellow brushes are safe to use on acrylic as well.
All the brushes use nylon bristles that don’t scratch surfaces, but like the Medium brushes, are sturdy enough to clean common bathroom messes.
Can I Use Drillbrush on Automotive Paint?
No, we do not recommend Drillbrush products for automotive paint.
While Drillbrush bristles are non-scratch, auto paint is sensitive enough that the dirt particles picked up by the bristles can cause microscratches on the surface when spinning at speed.
You might be fine with that for a winter beater or a work vehicle, but for collectors cars, sports cars, or vehicles you want to keep pristine, you are better off scrubbing by hand with a rag or sponge.
For Drillbrush users who want to know what automotive scrubbing they can do, we recommend using a Soft White brush on windshields, upholstery, car mats, headlights, rims, tires, and interiors, but not on the paint.
Any More Surfaces You Want To Know About?
Drillbrush can clean many unique surfaces, but if you’re uncertain, it’s always good to check if Drillbrush is right for that task. Luckily, we’ve been in the drill-powered scrubbing business for twenty years, so we have the know-how to help guide you in the right direction.
Drillbrush products feature non-scratch nylon bristles that are safe to use on most surfaces. Though some materials are susceptible to hard surface particles that can scratch when moving across the surface quickly. In those cases, it’s better to hand scrub.
