As the Super Bowl ends, the roar of engines return to the high banks of Daytona International Speedway as the start of the NASCAR season begins for 2024.

Among the many events during the lead-up for the Daytona 500 is the ARCA Menard’s Series season-opener BRANDT 200, where Drillbrush will have a sticker on Brayton Laster’s #95 TC/MAN Motorsports Toyota.

The Pizza Man himself, Brayton Laster!

Known as the ‘Pizza Man,” Indiana’s Brayton Laster is quickly becoming a name to watch in ARCA competition. Noted for his eccentric social media presence, his wild iRacing paint schemes, and his signature pepperoni-print helmet, you can’t miss Laster in the garage area.

You can’t miss him on the track either. With three top 10s in nine starts, primarily in underfunded equipment, Brayton knows how to wheel a racecar and bring it home clean.

Drillbrush’s partnership with Brayton Laster started in 2023 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, where we sponsored the side of Laster’s #31 Rise Motorsports Chevy. Laster wheeled the car to a tenth place finish, despite difficulties getting to the track and a loss of power steering early in the race.

Laster is attempting the BRANDT 200 in a #95 Toyota Camry being fielded by TC Motorsports, a team operated by part-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Justin Carroll. The entry is in conjunction with MAN Motorsports, an ARCA team that scored its first top 5 finish last year with driver Connor Popplewell at Salem Speedway.

Drillbrush will have a sticker on the rear decklid of Brayton Laster’s car, along with a host of other small businesses and independent backers as part of Laster’s “Mom n’ Pop spots” program, which provides a cost effective way for smaller companies to appear on an ARCA stock car.

This will be Brayton’s third time racing at Daytona in the ARCA Menard’s Series. He scored a 13th place finish in 2022 with Mullins Racing and a 27th place showing in 2023 with Clubb Racing Inc; both lead lap finishes. Laster is also trying to extend his streak of top 10 finishes, having scored one in each of his last three starts.

Laster will have his work cut out for him, though. As of this writing, 50 teams have entered the BRANDT 200 at Daytona. With only 40 cars making the show and an entry list that features V8 Supercars Champion and NASCAR Chicago Street Race winner Shane Van Gisbergen and open wheel star Marco Andretti, qualifying is going to be essential. However, we’re confident that the Pizza Man has what it takes to lay down a fast lap!

This is not Drillbrush’s first foray into the world of stock car racing. Last year, Drillbrush sponsored four race teams at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds under Team Drillbrush. Three of our drivers; Christian Rose, Alex Clubb, and Brayton Laster, scored top 10 finishes, while our fourth driver, Brad Smith, scored a season-best 11th place finish. You can read about the great performances by all of our partners in that event here.

Off the track, Drillbrush is a useful asset in the world of motorsports. Dirt track teams use our 7 inch Ultra Stiff brushes to clean dirt clumps out of the treads of their tires between heats. Champion Tire and Wheel, who provides tire transport and wheel tolerance checking services for NASCAR race teams, use Drillbrush products to clean tires and lug holes.

Drillbrush products can also help race teams get more out of their tires, as shown by this durometer test Brayton Laster did on his asphalt slicks last year.

Where to Watch

Where to Watch

The stars of the ARCA Menard’s Series will take to the track on Saturday, February 17th at 1:30pm EST. The race is being broadcasted on Fox Sports 1. Be sure to watch the race and cheer on Brayton Laster in what is sure to be a great event!

While the Drillbrush logo will only be on Laster’s #95 Toyota this weekend, we’d like to wish Christian Rose, Alex Clubb, and Brad Smith good luck on track as well! They were a pleasure to work with last year and we wish them the best in the 2024 season!
