5 Kitchen Appliances You Can Clean with a Drillbrush

Kitchen clean-up is a constant battle. Preparing a meal results in all sorts of messes to clean up. A home-cooked meal on the stove can splatter everywhere, heating up food can cause it to pop and burst, and even storing food isn’t safe from leaky containers and errant spills.

Kitchen appliances get messy after every meal prep, and some of them can be a nightmare to scrub. You could spend time, energy, and elbow grease trying to chip away at coagulated barbeque sauce on burners and burnt-on build-up on air fryer walls, or you can cut through tough grease, grime, gristle, and gunk faster and easier with a high powered Drillbrush Power Scrubber!

We’ll look at five kitchen appliances that can be cleaned as good as new with a Drillbrush.

Refrigerator

So much can go wrong inside a packed refrigerator. Containers can leak, sodas could burst, continents can spill, and leftovers can be left all over the place if you’re not careful. And don’t get us started on the horrors one can find tucked away in the deep recesses of the vegetable crisper.

When it’s time to clean out the fridge, there’s a lot that needs to be done. Fortunately, there’s a Drillbrush for every nook and cranny of the ole’ icebox.

Drillbrush Medium brushes are your friend for kitchen messes. A 4 inch or 5 inch flat brush can be used to scrub rings and spills on refrigerator shelves. In corners, around the door shelves, in the lower drawers, a bullet-shaped Original brush can easily sweep out any crumbs and build-up hiding around the corners. For the stuff that’s really wedged in those corners, a cone-shaped corner brush has sloped bristles to get a perfect fit into 90 degree angles.

Stoves

Stovetops can get coated in grease, sauce splatter, and starchy water. The more diverse your ingredients, the more diverse the messes left behind. With so many ways to dirty up a stove, a versatile tool like Drillbrush really comes in handy!

Lay down your stovetop cleaner or degreaser of choice and you’re ready to scrub. Our flat brushes, like the 4 inch or 5 inch, are perfect for large level areas, like the top of an electric burner. Meanwhile, Original-style corner brushes can be used to scrub around more complex gas stoves, which have divots and grates to clean in and in between.

For some baked on messes on electric stovetops, you may need to use a scraper first, as these types of build-up require something stiffer than nylon, but can’t use abrasives that would scratch the ceramic. 

Down below in the oven, Green brushes can do the trick for basic clean-up, but for burnt on gristle and charred crumbs that have accumulated at the bottom, you may want to upgrade to an Ultra Stiff Black Drillbrush. These brushes use nylon bristles that are food safe, but tough enough to scrub away heavy build-up.

Use our flat brushes for the walls and base or a corner brush for all around the inside and pair it with your oven cleaner of choice for fast oven cleaning that’ll clear out unwanted spots and leftover charred patches.

Microwaves

It happens all the time. You put something in the microwave for just a little too long and it pops and splatters and gets all over the place. Canned soup, popcorn butter, sauce from the leftover takeout; all thrown about the inside of the box!

Drillbrush Medium Green Original and Mini Original brushes work wonders getting around microwave surfaces, diving deep into corners and navigating contours and grates within the machine. Our cone-shaped corner brushes can also help if you need to get into full 90 degree angles.

Some larger microwaves will allow you to get inside easily, but for small or deep microwaves, we recommend attaching a 5 inch or 7 inch extension to your brush to get extra reach.

For the glass turntable, a Soft White or Medium Green 4 inch or 5 inch flat brush is handy for scrubbing away hardened popcorn butter and other food splatter. 

Coffee Makers

For a quick burst of energy, many turn to a fresh cup of coffee. It’s an important part of the morning routine and some of you out there literally can’t start the day without it, so if you’re the type to brew it yourself at home, you don’t want a dirty well to spoil the pot.

Luckily, Drillbrush makes brushes that can get into coffee pots, as well as the water tanks on Keurig and Nespresso machines. 

The best brushes for coffee machines are our Mini Original brushes. They have the same bullet-shape as our Original corner cleaning brush, but a smaller size to wedge into tighter corners and spaces.

The Medium Green Mini should do the trick for cleaning around water tanks and most stuck on coffee grounds inside pots and kettles, but you can swap in a Stiff Red bristled Mini to wipe away burnt substances on the inner walls.

For deeper tanks and pots, employ the use of our 5 inch or 7 inch extensions, which offer extra reach to get deep into the machines.

When you’re done cleaning, make sure you rinse out the machine well, or in the case of Keurigs and Nespresso machines, run water through the system without coffee to flush out any leftover particles.

Air Fryer

It’s a common joke that people don’t clean their air fryers, resulting in the same crumb getting charred over and over again. But we get it, air fryers can be a pain to clean, especially if too much burnt on gristle forms on the sides. 

Though at Drillbrush, when we hear that a cleaning job is “too difficult,” we break out a brush that can handle the job; our Ultra Stiff Black brushes.

These brushes have very stiff, food-safe nylon bristles that are tough enough to clean everything from grill grates to concrete. If a mess doesn’t want to go, a Drillbrush Ultra Stiff will make it go.

Bullet-shaped Original-style brushes are the best way to go for air fryers. Depending on the size, a Mini, standard Original, or Jumbo will do the trick. Some larger models can fit a 4 inch flat brush for cleaning the bottom of the tray, and our detailing brushes can whip away small spots. And while Black brushes can be used to remove hard set build-up, a Medium brush like the one pictured above can be used for regular cleaning.
