10 Weird, Funny, and Downright Unusual Drillbrush Reviews
Off the Wall Reviews

Reviews are everywhere these days and have become a staple in our online experience. Looking for restaurants? Check the Yelp reviews. Want to know if that new Dwayne Johnson film is any good? Check Rotten Tomatoes. Is this Youtube video essay worth the 3 hour investment? Check the comments (since there’s no dislike bar anymore.)

Even more prominently, reviews are instrumental to online shopping. While it can be occasionally abused, as a voice of the common man, it’s a great way to gauge whether a product is worth your time and money.

However, not every review has to be Gertrude saying “I like it” and inexplicably giving it 1 star. Some internet denizens like to flex their creative writing skills and craft a review that’s sure to entertain! These comedic reviews are always a blast to sift through (and marketplaces like Steam even allow you to rate and sort reviews based on their comedic value.)

Drillbrush is no exception. In our over 15 year run, we’ve gotten some quirky and unique reviews on our products and kits. From the witty wordsmiths to the boomer humorists, we’ve selected some of our favorite funny Drillbrush reviews.

The following are all real reviews left by customers on our Amazon listings.

We freakin' love this review.

Starting off with a long one, Keith K gave us a lengthy account of his experiences with the Medium Blue 42O kit. Included in this epic tale of scrubbery is his initial excitement upon seeing the brushes, musings on how they make him feel cool and manly, the various places he cleaned around the house, and some mistakes he made along the way, all punctuated with some well-placed “freakins.” And while he could’ve used our guide on splatter management when he was cleaning his countertops, Keith K. and his wife both enjoyed their Blue Medium brushes and we really enjoyed his review!

Best Invention Since Sliced Bread?

As soon as I saw these I thought, "I freaking have to have that!" I mean, what sane person doesn't want to combine cleaning and power tools?!? It seemed like an awesome idea. And as soon as the package arrived, the main brush went straight on my drill for some heavy-duty cleaning.

First, I started with the linoleum on the kitchen floor. We are not clean freaks like we probably should be and our floors only get mopped maybe every two weeks- they "looked" pretty clean before I started blasting away. I spritzed a little Pine Sol on the floor and started brushing away a few minutes later and the floors turned about 4 shades whiter. Huh...so that's what they were supposed to look like...who knew?

With my new-found passion for cleaning, I spotted the sliding glass door frame next. Even though it's aluminum, there were some clear dirt/grime stains that were perfect for the little round brush to attack. At first it didn't do much and I realized that you have to spray surfaces down before going into attack mode....even if it's just water. Once the surfaces were wet, the grime didn't have a chance. I proceeded onto the bathroom sinks, showers, etc. and these brushes just chewed [its] way through dirt/grime like nobody's business. I'd say on average from cleaning by hand, these brushes are 4-5 times faster.

Negatives? Okay, there is one....but only if you're stupid like me. If you're going to spray down something serious like Mean Green or Purple Power and then attempt to clean it with your cordless drill, be prepared for some serious blow-back! That means safety goggles with clothes that can take a spatter or two without hurting your feelings. I used bleach on my kitchen counter tops and within seconds, my new Nike shirt had a thousand little bleach dots on it. That's completely on me though for not thinking the situation through.

After cleaning for about 30 minutes, your drill will heat up and begin to protest- that's maybe the only other con. You could probably clean all your kitchens and bathrooms in that time though with these attachments under normal circumstances- a full shower with a bath tub takes maybe 2-3 minutes max....and that's getting it perfect. You could literally do a quick clean [for] unexpected company in 20-30 seconds with these attachments and most wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

One last thing- after about an hour total of cleaning, the main round brush still looks like new. These are supposed to be medium bristles for general cleaning but they're still very stiff, so this set should get you months of heavy duty cleaning (or years or normal usage). You simply can't go wrong for the price and I'll buy a set of these for each male family member for the holidays.

In summary- I freakin' love these brushes and my wife does too! They're manly enough for me to feel cool while cleaning yet my wife can use them with the drill just fine. You'll actually look for stubborn areas to clean because they're so powerful yet easy to use.

Daniel Rose loves the Drillbrush. I mean, REALLY loves the Drillbrush. So much so that Daniel goes into very specific details of his euphoric Drillbrush experience (whether we want him to or not.) Let’s just say we’re happy to have had a profound impact on Daniel’s life.

Watch out sliced bread, there's a new unit of measurement in town.

I never thought I'd be writing a review about a brush you can attach to a drill, while stating the product is life changing. But here we are, and this product is amazing. I bought this as it was a Gold Box deal and I like gadgets. I also live in a moist environment where mold loves to grow and have an enclosed shower. This is a recipe for a dirty shower.

When the product arrived I pulled out my drill Hitachi D10VH2 7.0 Amp 3/8" Variable Speed Drill/Driver with Metal Keyless Chuck , sprayed the shower top to bottom with Scrubbing Bubbles Disinfectant Bathroom Cleaner, Fresh, 40.0 Ounce , stripped down to my birthday suit and told my wife to call the police if I didn't emerge in 30 minutes. In the enclosure, the drill is a bit loud and the smell is intense, however the results of these beautiful green brushes was instantly noticeable.

I used the larger diameter flat brush for 90% of the shower. Glass, tiles, floor, I drilled it all. I used the toilet brush shaped head for corners and the slopes and smallest brush for hard to reach spots. There were spots of mold my wife and I tried to scrub....and scrub.....and scrub in the tiles grout that we could never get out. After subjecting the mold to the unbridled power of my drill and these brushes, it went running and screaming to the drain. After ceasing my maniacal laughter, I stopped to marvel the fact that something we've scrubbed with hand brushes for hours, literally was clean in a matter of seconds. The combination of Scrubbing Bubbles and these brushes was breath taking. I was so ecstatic I was providing play-by-play commentary of mold removal (sans clothes) from inside the shower to my wife. Saying this was the greatest moment of my life might seem like an overstatement, especially since I turn 40 this year. However the birth of my children, viewing Haley's Comet, and seeing the Berlin Wall come down all pale in comparison to the joy of showing the scum in my shower who's boss.

This company creates other brushes with different tensile strength (see the color chart) and I may buy those, along with stock in the company. To say these brushes exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. Since I cannot rate items 100+ stars on Amazon's limited rating service, I was forced to give this product a mere five star review.

DJ is no slouch! But when it comes to bathroom cleaning? Well, he can be persuaded to put it off. Luckily for him, he found some Medium Yellow brushes that make bathroom cleanup almost fun.

Almost Made Bathroom Cleanup Fun!!!!

I'm not a lazy person normally, but when it comes to cleaning my bathroom I can find just about any reason you could think [of] to do it another time. It got so bad that I went on amazon looking specifically for a power scrubber. I couldn't bear the thought of trying to remove years of soap scum and buildup by hand.

I received this kit and immediately got the cordless drill out. I covered the shower walls and floors with Ajax as well as the scrubbing brush itself after wetting it down. After that it was actually kinda fun. Think power waxing but in the bathroom!! I had no problem ripping through all the scum and filth and even managed to clean the grout effectively with the smaller brush!! I was so motivated that I gave the toilet attachment a try and it polished the bowl up in no time.

After using and abusing all three attachments, none of them showed any signs of wear and tear. Made a miserable 2 to 3 hour job a fun 30 minute clean up.

Peter Keelough’s review of the Variety 542O kit sounds like it was drafted on the Fourth of July under a shower of fireworks, as it may be one of the most American reviews we’ve ever read! Hopefully we someday get that Bald Eagle high five!

American value built into this American product

I was really impressed with this purchase, with many applications. Do you have a toilet [that] has too many battle stains of taco Tuesdays? Well the makers of Drill Brush came up with a solution to that. Whoever on the executive board of innovation at Drill Brush that thought it was a good idea to put a toliet bowl scrubber on a drill is a genius and you deserve a high five from a Bald Eagle. As soon as [FedEx] delivered my [Drillbrush] set I was eager to try them out so I plugged the yellow [Drillbrush] attachment into my Porter Cable 20 volt cordless drill to scrub away some unsightly soap scum out of my bathtub. Needless to say my soap scum debacle was too great for a 20v lithium battery. So in great determination to impress the misses, I grabbed my Kobalt 9 amp corded drill to defeat the residue of soaps past. You may ask yourself, does this man have a tub of concrete or no time to be lightly scrubbing away like he’s June Cleaver. The answer is that the dirt, soap scum and caulking for that matter didn’t stand a chance against the Drill Brush and the torque behind my Kobalt drill. These brushes are worth every dollar you spend on them. So why spend hours and the energy scrubbing the tub, oil stains in the garage and grout in the kitchen when you can clean for your lady and feel like a macho man at the same time? I even read a review on this product that some lumberjacks in Minnesota use the white Drill Brush attachment to get the splinters out from underneath their nails because they are bold Americans and don’t have time for a mirror and tweezers. I say be a proud American and click add to cart on this American made product of New York.

It's Tool Time!

Michael Bisceglia doesn’t want your standard scrub brushes, he wants a testosterone-fueled cleaning experience. In his review, which sounds like a cross between a commercial for a NASCAR race and a bit from Home Improvement, Michael compares our Medium Yellow brushes to Ford Mustangs and gets into all the high octane details of his cleaning experience. Entertaining and interestingly worded, Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor would be proud!

Clean like a man!

It's time to clean like a man. I don't mean sit on the couch with a beer watching the game; I mean drill brush. I have been perpetually frustrated by sissy cleaning tools like "power scrubbers" which are a total misnomer because there is so little power. Where are the cleaning tools with two stroke engines anyways!? Darn carbon monoxide... I considered bringing the hose from my pressure washer through the window to hit the shower but became a little concerned about what 3000 psi of water pressure would do to the grout. Enter the drill brush. This bad boy has the torque of a classic mustang with a 429. I recommend a 40 volt drill with a side grip to control the power, otherwise; the thing will take you for a ride and leave you in a ditch. Even with a 20 volt drill, two hands are a must to get good pressure and control. The bristles are stiff and high quality. Due to the torque, bristle swirl is inevitable. However, you can somewhat mitigate this and extend the life by putting your drill in reverse. I recommend the drill brush with a resounding, testosterone filled Tim The Tool Man Taylor grunt.

This Amazon reviewer is faced with the scariest things known to man; soap scum and teenagers. While there may not be much you can do about the teens, they picked up a Soft White E542J kit to handle their messes at least.

Dirty bathtub's worst nightmare

If you have teenage kids and filthy bathtubs look no further. Spray a general purpose bathroom cleaner and scrub. Whole tub walls and all done in 10 minutes sparkles like new.

Mr. Witt here definitely has an odd first Drillbrush use story; what with the covert cleaning and the questioning of his sanity at the thought of using a power tool to clean. However, the results are real and nothing to hide!

Love it. Pretty much perfect.

Not sure I've ever reviewed an Amazon product before, but I'm so happy with this. It's perfect for me, probably not for professionals, but I got it today, my wife's out of town, and I've been cleaning EVERYTHING. If she doesn't notice, we've got marriage problems. I did the shower, kitchen tiles, very carefully did the cabinets around the handles... and I love these brushes. All you dads and husbands, you'll look insane going room-to-room with your screwgun with a brush attachment, and you probably want to think twice about delicate items, but I've gone to town. Kitchen floor, roof of my car, bathroom and kitchen sink. My advice is have a 2nd battery charged for your screwgun (I might have written a completely different review if I'd only had one), and who knows how long before the bristles wear out, but I got a lot accomplished first day it arrived. It was fun. Done. End of review. Loved it... and because I'm insanely cheap, the price was perfect. (Reflecting: This was work. I'm pretty sure it's the first review I've ever left on Amazon since joining in 2006.) Left 4, instead of 5 stars, because its only day 1 and I don't know any better. But I definitely recommend if you're looking for a product like this. -JW

In what sounds like an account with a cryptid, Scott Sherwood talks about soap scum and hard water stains besting his wife and having to beat the tub into submission with a Drillbrush Yellow 42O kit himself. We only hope Mrs. Sherwood has recovered from this harrowing encounter.

One word - Awesome

One word - Awesome. It was an epic battle between myself and the tub. The tub with soap scum and hard water stains already bested my wife. I did a little research, and found the chemical (Bar Keepers Friend) and found the tool (Drill Brush). The tub was beaten in to submission in under 20 minutes.

I have 4 kids and we are on the road, A LOT, which means lots of spilled snacks, drinks and of course.. Bodily fluids, lol. I thought my seats were done for, but when I removed all the carseats, vacuumed, etc., I tried cleaning with just a cloth to see if spots were easy to get off of my seats, but they weren't. I pop this on my drill and it seriously worked wonders! Completely satisfied with my order and will be getting the full car detailing set, soon!
